thrusts players into procedurally generated temples with the goal of obtaining relics. Naturally, said temples are filled with perilous traps. Bottomless chasms, spiked hallways of death, and giant spinning blades are just a few of the nasty surprises waiting to cut you into tiny pieces.

Quick Whip decreases the time it takes for your whip to crack or connect with a platform, but does NOT reduce the cooldown of your grapple.

Since it grapples almost instantaneously, it increases the window of time you have to grapple a platform while falling fast, which is how I've gotten the most use out of it. You can drop through tall rooms with abandon and more safely snag a platform to break your fall.

in its current state it offers very little reason to try new whips once you find the ones you like. In the previous versions of the game to spice up the run I could try a new whip and because the whip was cursed it adds a new extra challenge. And the reward Phantom Abyss for winning with the curse was a non cursed version of the whip where you just had the unique whip benefit.

Phantom Abyss is a massive asynchronous multiplayer game that casts players into procedurally-generated temples and tasks them with retrieving the sacred relics hidden within deadly chambers. Intrepid adventurers will dodge scores of hidden traps, leap treacherous chasms, and flee relentless guardians through branching paths until one of the relics are claimed or the devices of death overwhelm them. Be warned, you only get one attempt at each temple and failure or settling for a lesser relic means you will never see that temple again... The cleverest players will use the phantom runs of failed attempts from other players to their advantage and avoid the missteps and mistakes that led to their doom. Asynchronous Multiplayer Explore the perilous halls and colossal rooms of each temple alongside the phantoms of fallen players that came before you.

While never impenetrable, the frame rate suffers noticeably, and sometimes proves the difference between thrilling success and devastating failure, given the game’s emphasis on quick reactions.

An ancient temple full of traps has a treasure at the very end, and you want it. Armed with your trusty whip, you'll race through the temple, avoiding dangerous pitfalls and angry temple guardians. Unfortunately, if you die, you'll never be able to try this particular iteration of the temple again.

And don't forget, that if you get reset to the front of a room because of a crush or fall, then the guardian is that much closer, or possibly where you will respawn and thus it will end your run.

The action-adventure parkour game has been in Early Access for over two years, with the developers slowly polishing up rough edges and adding new features in correspondence with community feedback.
